Before We Arrive

Before We Arrive

Thank you for trusting us with your home or business place and fine furnishings. We want you to have the best experience with the least amount of inconvenience. To accomplish this goal, we need your help with a little preparation before our visit…

How to prepare for our arrival:

  • Please review your work order prior to our arrival and confirm with the technician.
  • Remove all breakable and valuable items from the working area prior to our arrival.
  • Ensure someone 18 years or older is present in your home or we will not be able to enter.
  • We love pets too, so always keep your pets contained in a safe place. The loud noise from our equipment can frighten them.
  • All furniture you would like cleaned underneath must be moved prior to our arrival. Our technicians are not permitted to move furniture and the furniture cannot be moved during the cleaning process.

Thank you so much for your cooperation – it helps us do a better job for you. We look forward to serving you!

How to prepare for Carpet Cleaning:

Before

  • Have an outside water faucet available for us to turn on.
  • Vacuum Carpet prior to our arrival
  • Point out areas of concern before the job starts.
  • Please clear and pick up all items from the Carpet you would like us to be cleaned, the more you clear the more we will clean.
  • Secure floor-length draperies on the windowsill or drapery rod using hangers.

After

  • CAUTION – Walking from a wet carpet onto a hard surface can be very slippery! Please put a rug or towel on hard surfaces as a reminder.
  • Carpet drying time can vary widely due to the density of your carpet, humidity & the degree of soil. To speed drying, minimize traffic on the carpet, ventilate the area as outside weather allows, (not during rain or hot/ humid days) & increase air circulation. Carpet drying time may vary from 4 to 6 hrs. under ideal conditions and up to 10 hrs. In wet winter months. If Fabric Protection was applied post-cleaning, drying time may be lengthened but still should be dry in less than 24 hrs.
  • To avoid stains or rust spots, please don’t put any small items such as floor lamps, tables, chairs, magazine baskets, etc., back on the carpet until after 24 hours. Do not remove any pads or blocks our technicians may have placed under furniture until the carpet is completely dry.
  • Rippling can occur under certain conditions even when carpet is not properly installed. The adhesive that holds the backing together can absorb moisture and expand. In most cases, this rippling will disappear within 72 hours.

How to prepare for Pressure/Soft Washing

  • Please clear and pick up and move all items from the perimeter of your home. We recommend placing items in the garage or at least 20 feet away from the sides of your home so we have room to move hoses and keep your belongings dry.
  • Please remove any dog feces from the backyard.
  • Make sure all windows are closed FULLY. We are not responsible for water entering the property.
  • We will need access to your hose spigot to keep our water tank full as we clean.
  • Please leave the entire front of your property’s curbside open for us to park our truck/trailer.

How to prepare for Upholstery Cleaning:

  • Have an outside water faucet available for us to turn on.
  • Point out areas of concern before the job starts.
  • Vacuum upholstery prior to our arrival.

What Our Clients Say...

How to prepare for Pressure Washing / Roof Cleaning:

Keeps Pets & Children Out Of The Way

While our team of professionals at Carolina Green Steam does all that we can to minimize inconvenience for you and your home, it will help us if you keep pets and small children inside the house while we work. The last thing we want is for an accident to happen, so we try to have residents stay in their homes or possibly go out as we clean the building.

Remove Obstacles & Obstructions

Pressure washing and soft washing often require precise aim and maneuverability, and this can be difficult if there are things such as lawn furniture, equipment, toys, vehicles and other things in the way. Depending on which aspect of your home is being washed, we require removing as many obstacles as possible so that your cleaning specialists can deliver the best level of service possible.

Make Sure All Windows & Doors Are Properly Sealed

Nobody wants water to seep into their home, so before we begin our job, you want to go around and check every door and window in your home to ensure they are properly closed and sealed. Check every single opening that leads into your home, especially if it’s in the primary area where the specialists are working. If you notice improper seals, you may want to invest in new sealants to close them up before the pressure washing begins.

Check Loose Window Screens

Window screens can become dislodged during a pressure washing if they haven’t been adequately secured. In some cases, it might actually be beneficial to remove them entirely before a pressure washing to minimize the chance of damage.
